Americans historically have not haggled for better prices on most items. One reason most of us hate to go to a car dealer to buy a car is because it is one of the few places where negotiation is expected, and we aren’t good at it. To keep up we need to learn that negotiation (aka haggling) is acceptable, expected and useful.
