Although my parents never specifically taught me about finances, they lived a frugal life by necessity. When they got married, they bought a duplex so that the rent money from the tenant in the upstairs apartment would pay the mortgage. The hardest part of being frugal for me is resisting the appeal of a good restaurant meal.
